Marshall Gras Crawl Windows at the Arts Center
Huge paintings that fill up the entire windows on Main Street Marshall announcing the upcoming town event sponsored by the DMA... Downtown Marshall Association.
The event will take place the evening of FAT TUESDAY.. Feb. 28th 2017. There will be a route for the crawl from one downtown establishment to the next. A total of 6 stops, each featuring a food of New Orleans. Included and beginning the route is Star Diner, then MAD Co. Brewery, then onto ZUMA, next is Good Stuff, across the street to Marshall Container Company, and ending up the block to Sweet Monkey. Costumes are strongly encouraged.(HEY, this IS Mardi Gras after all!)
Beads and doubloons along the way. A Family Friendly Event...
I, Lois Simbach, painted those paintings in the Arts Council Windows and, I must say, they look absolutely fantastic at night! I back lit them and added a bit of red... I love it !!!!
An official Marshall Gras Crawl Poster will be coming out soon, (which I also painted).
Be sure to look for it in all the windows in town. And be sure to come "in costume" on Fat Tuesday!!
See you there.

New Paintings up at ZUMA coffee in Marshall, NC
Nineteen new paintings are on display through June 30, 2016 on the walls inside ZUMA Coffee Shop on Main Street in Marshall, NC......
I am very excited about these pieces. They are more abstract and free. I am living now at my warehouse in downtown Marshall, and painted them all there. My first body of work since being back from Texas. The warehouse is complete enough for inspection and for me to live there and I have this show up AND... I self-published a little book of illustrated stories...
Those are great accomplishments for one year and yes, I am patting myself on the back.
I will try now to add some images of the paintings. Next task is a show in Florida and then

Back Home for Good in Marshall
What an amazing four years I just had.
Both my dear Mom and Dad did pass away.
I was able to keep them at home and care for them till the end.
I learned so very much about love, patience, and the future.
Trying to remember now, who I am?
What is my mission, and how to accomplish it?
A new chapter of myself.....make it good.
Lots of details ahead, lots of lists, lots of work.
Calm down, take it easy, you are OK.
My warehouse is beautiful.

Far Away but still Drawing
Hello to anyone and everyone. My concentration is still on Women's Portraits.
I am now taking a ceramics workshop where I'm painting portraits onto small
vases..Faces on Vases... the background is colorful textile pattens, and I must
say that they are coming out very very fabulously.. I am pleased with my results.
Also have continued the couples drawings which are rather comical, but
effective. And from them I am developing some stories..
It's been a while and I even forgot and neglected that I had set up this blog.
Happy to find it again. Busy caregiving my very elderly parents for the last
three years and still counting. But I must tell you that I am having amazing,
fun and other-worldly dreams of big cities and warehouses with costumes and
parties..It's a delight every night..... Thank You. lois simbach
